Objectives: Aim for students:
- To help students rightly understand and live in light of God's Word
in all areas of life.
- To help develop students who love God with their heart, soul, mind
and strength, who possess a Christian worldview, who have a genuine
desire for learning, and who seek to take every thought captive to the
obedience of Christ.
- To help our students grow to become critical thinkers, so that they
will not be enslaved by the prevailing mindset of our culture.
- To train students to pursue truth, goodness and beauty in everything
under the universal lordship of Christ.
Aim for education:
- To pursue a distinctively Christian education using a distinctively
Classical model of education. To build Providence Classical Academy
on the foundation of a zeal for knowing and living in light of God's
Word and a transforming dependence on God as He graciously reveals Himself
in the Gospel.
- To develop a staff of Godly and excellent administrators and teachers:
who deeply love the Lord, demonstrated by the fruit of their lives;
deeply love learning, demonstrated by their passion for the subjects
they teach; and deeply love the students, demonstrated by their loving
interaction with them
- To use the time-tested model of the Trivium, which has been tried
and proven true over the centuries, as the method of education to train
our students to think, and in particularly to think about all of life
in a way that is informed by the Bible's perspectives of life.
- To train students to think with a Biblical World-and-Life View (to
think about this world and this life in distinctively Biblical patterns):
Because we recognize that all knowledge comes from God, we are committed
to integrating the truth of the Scriptures into every aspect of their
education and to training students to think biblically about every area
of life, for God created, upholds, owns, and directs all the world.
Aim for family:
- To assist Christian parents in their task of educating and training
their children to the glory of God. We want to create an environment
where parents embrace the primary authority and responsibility for a
student's spiritual, academic, and social training and we serve in loco
parentis (i.e. our role is delegated, not primary).
- To have the parents of students involved in the
school in significant ways, that they may share in "owning"
the mission and work of the school.
- To develop community among the families who participate
in a way that we bless one another beyond the education of our
children.
Aim for the church:
- " To strengthen the church's aim of
making disciples who live to please Jesus" (Matthew 28:18-20).
- To have many believers from many churches involved
in this school.
- To serve in a way that strengthens, rather than competes
with the call to discipleship that Christ has given to all churches.
Aim for community:
- To serve as salt and light to our
neighbors.
- To create for Bossier-Shreveport a
genuninely Christian and Classical school that will leave a
legacy that will help to train students to think Biblically
for years to come.
- To find ways of serving our community
by seeing ourselves as servants from God for the city.
Aim for the world:
- To claim the world for Christ our King by helping to raise up students
who will transform the world.
